Happy Wednesday! This week has gone well – sometime in April, my parents and I will be going down to Virginia to see Dr. Loughran at the University of Virginia – so I will need to start looking up hotels, along with a place or two to eat at – we will arrive by Amtrak on a Monday night, see Dr. Loughran on Tuesday, and depart Wednesday morning. Tomorrow will go well – I think I will have a bagel that is lightly buttered for lunch, as noddles cooked in chicken broth are… now associated with my previous Thursdays. So I will talk to all of you on Monday! Have a good weekend!
Happy Monday! So, as you might know, the east coast got quite a bit of snow this weekend. In my area, we got around 20 inches of snow, so Rebel got to see his first snowfall – he loves snow – especially snowballs. It is fun to watch him play in the snow. So, Thursday went perfectly, Friday was the typical Friday as of late, which I am fine with. I also paid the Medical Marijuana card fee and I should be receiving it this week or next, yay! So, I will talk to you on Wednesday!
Hello everyone! So I went to the neurologist and local oncologist today. The neurologist visit went well – he prescribed me medical marijuana. My local oncologist did blood work and he liked my numbers – my hemoglobin is about 11 – 2.0 more and I am at a normal hemoglobin. I talked to the person who deals with the LGL registry and I joined it – just need to give some blood and spit to join. So, tomorrow will go well and I will talk to you on Monday!
Happy Monday! So, Thursday went perfectly and Friday was…. as it has been – I am fine with that. Tomorrow, I talk with the person who runs the LGL registry about joining it and on Wednesday I see my neurologist and local oncologist, so a bit of a busy week, but I get to know how I am doing with everything – and I am going to talk to the neurologist about MMJ – as I have exhausted the options for anti-nausea meds. So, talk to you on Wednesday!
Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday! So, the last few days have been interesting – I spoke with the research coordinator for the man who does most of the research for my kind of cancer and she confirmed what my NYC oncologist stated last week – that the other forms of methotrexate have not been studied for their effectiveness, but some people are on them. He prefers oral methotrexate whenever possible. However, today, my mom and I thought of a great idea – she was joking about how she wished she could just toss the pills in an easter egg to make it easier – which made me think “Wait. What about those empty capsules they sell for people at stores that sell supplements?” So tomorrow, we are going to try that. It is going to work well and I will report as to how well it worked on Monday. Talk to all of you then!
Hello everyone! Happy Monday! So, Thursday did not go well. The new nausea med did not play well with me – did not make me feel that well and I actually vomited more than usual. Other than that, it was a typical weekend for me – a bit rainy here. I hope all of you are well and I will probably have much more to say on Wednesday. Talk to all of you then!
Happy Wednesday! So, I went to the NYC oncologist today – he is a bit… brusque with how he states things, but he thinks my Thursdays are mostly anxiety (with the possibility of some organic causes) and Friday is something organic, but he has never heard of the side effects I am having on Fridays at such a low dose (At least, not without it causing toxicity to the liver or kidneys). He prescribed a new anti-nausea pill, which I will be talking to my neurologist about tomorrow before taking it, just to make sure it is all good. The NYC oncologist was very pleased about the recent blood results, even doing a little fist pump when I handed him the results from the local oncologist. NYC oncologist doesn’t want to see me for two months because of how good my results are. So, tomorrow will go well with no vomiting and I will be tired on Friday. I will talk to all of you on Monday and I will have a good report.
Hello everyone! Happy New Year! Happy Monday! So, Thursday and Friday went… as it has as of late. We celebrated our New Years Eve of eating hors d’oeuvres and watching movies on Saturday instead of Thursday. On Wednesday, I see my NYC oncologist – hopefully he can do something to help. If he has no suggestions, I will ask about medical marijuana, as it has been shown to help with chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting – and my neurologist prescribes it. Since the New Year, Rebel has been less bitey (yay!) but now he has a habit of pawing people, which is sort of funny/cute. So, I will talk to all of you on Wednesday, hopefully with good updates from the NYC oncologist!
